First of all Thank You so very much for taking the time to stop by and browse the items in my little corner of Etsy. Secondly, I have been noticing that the Etsy Shipping Calculator has been overcharging for shipping (I have had to give refunds on just about every purchase since the beginning of the year). Please know that although I do charge a small handling fee for shipping supplies, I am not trying to make money on shipping costs. I WILL REFUND any overage on shipping costs over $1. I have had issues since the beginning of the year when USPS changed the shipping rates and have not been able to figure out why the calculator has been overcharging so much. So please do not let the shipping costs scare you into not purchasing from my shoppe and if you have questions at all about the shipping quoted by Etsy, please ask. I cannot see what you are seeing as your shipping costs, but if you want an accurate quote, do not hesitate to message me with your zip code and I will be more than happy to give you an accurate shipping quote. These Gorgeous French Country Cottage “Time Flies” Ornaments are a must have this Holiday Season and beyond. You could use these as Knob Hangers or Gift Tags or Decor Pieces or Chandelier Hangers or Wedding Party Gifts and the list goes on and on and on what you could use these for.
I started out painting Wood Heart Ornaments in a White Chalk Paint. Then they were decoupaged with the Angel Wings I created in Antique Brown. Next I created the Pocket Watch Clay Moulds and adhered them to the front. I then painted the Pocket Watches in the White Chalk Paint and and them aged them with Antiquing Wax. I then highlighted them as well as the outer part of the ornament with Antique Gold Rub n Buff for that Vintage and Distressed Old World Charm feel. I then added a matching 2 1/2″ Vintage Seam Binging Ribbon hanger.
To be honest it wasn’t exactly the look I was going for in the beginning, but as I was creating them they starting telling me what they needed and they morphed into these Beautiful Ornaments. That’s how it goes sometimes though. Sometimes the items just speak to you and what you envisioned in the beginning is nowhere near how they turned out. But those are usually the true Gems or Creations. The ones that genuinely come from your soul and not just your heart.
I have a total of 6 Ornaments in stock at the moment. These Ornaments can be Made to Order if I don’t have the amount you need already in stock, but it will take several days to a week for them to ship out as the clay has to have time to dry. It is air dry clay and drying time varies upon our weather, dryer weather means faster drying time, humid weather means more drying time. But this also means that if you want them in other colors, I may be able to accommodate. Just message me for a custom order.
